We had a wonderful stay here. It was everything we were looking for in a place to experience this wonderful part of spain with our children. The rural setting yet close enough to towns like Ferreira& Monforte and cities like Ourense,Lugo,Santiago- made for the perfect location for us. We had such a great time talking with neighbours. Their hospitality and the knowledge they shared with us about their lives here in Vilar. All made our stay so interesting. We particularly loved hiking in the countryside on the beautiful trails from the Galician trail book. Some special times were the river tour along the canyon, walking the ancient walls of Lugo , the cathedral in Santiago , mass at the little local church with the neighbours and drinking way to much Aquadiente with a family in the village, the market in Monforte and the hot baths in Ourense.
